I have updated the goalscorers section of the site, renamed Goals / Assists Combined, to show who has had a hand in the most goals this season, rather than just scoring the goals alone. Stewart Downing is the club’s top league goalscorer, though I’m sure Darren Bent will have something to say about that, with 6 goals but having laid on just 3 for teammates, he is currently ranked 3rd in the list. Marc Albrighton and Emile Heskey appear to have the best goal influence in terms of the amount of games they have played. In the youngsters first season, Albrighton has scored 5 in all competition but perhaps more impressively has 9 assists to his name, playing a part in 14 goals in just 18 starts. Heskey is similarly effective having only started 10 games the striker has 6 goals and 2 assists, a hand in 8 goals in total. Ashley Young is second on the list after a fairly poor season in front of goal, only 2 in open play from his 5 goals, he has however, laid on a decent 8 assists.
