After researching Marc Albrighton’s stats on goal contributions last week after correctly guessing that the youngster had accumulated more assits/goals PER minutes on the pitch in his first season than anyone else at the club, I wanted to see how he faired against the wingers from all the other clubs in the league. Because I was bored? Probably. Because I’m a statto nerd? Definitely. Anyway the following results are with regards to each players minutes on the field, not merely appearances, in all competitions (not just the league) and are therefore more reliable and meaningful. I understand that playing a part in the goals doesn’t make you the best winger but it’s a pretty good indicator and makes for a more interesting headline! I’ve found the stats on each of the 20 EPL sides usual starting wingers so enjoy (or find it pointless, either way it’s killed some time!)
