Here is a breakdown of the Villa’s best and worst performers in terms of ratings and statistics vs Everton with Given, Warnock and Agbonlahor impressing.
Player Ratings
Shay Given – 7.5 – a string of saves saw him the busier of the keepers and a superb stop from Cabaye kept Villa level
Alan Hutton – 6.5 – far more assured on his home debut that last time out in a steady display
Richard Dunne – 6.5 – solid enough, good distribution from the back
James Collins – 6.5 – better in the air this time out
Stephen Warnock – 7.5 – easily the best defender on the day and just pipped Given to MoM for me
Stiliyan Petrov – 6.5 – played in a far more advanced position early on but faded due to injury
Fabian Delph – 6.5 – a busier display than last week but still not in the form of his first couple of matches
Charles N’Zogbia – 6 – worryingly subdued again, posing little threat
Barry Bannan – 6.5 – bright, confident display but Villa need to utilize him more often
Gabby Agbonlahor – 7 – took goal well and was unlucky not to have a second after a great turn and shot
Darren Bent – 6 – like N’Zogbia he was quiet again and missed somewhat of a sitter, needs confidence
Subs
Stephen Ireland – 6.5 – steady cameo but couldn’t make much of an impact
Marc Albrighton – 6.5 – looked to impress again and should earn a start sooner rather than later
Nathan Delfouneso – no time
