Villa Look to Espanyol Striker to Partner Bent?

Gerard Houllier is reportedly keen to tie up a new strike partner for Darren Bent with the side having picked up decent results having reverted to a more traditional 4-4-2 line-up. The Frenchman is thought to be holding an interest in Espanyol front man Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, more commonly known as Dani Osvaldo. The 25-year-old is a former Italy Under-21 international despite being born in Argentina. He has only been in La Liga for the past season having secured a switch from Bologna in the summer of last year but is believed to have impressed sufficiently to draw interest from a number of Premier League clubs including fellow strugglers Blackburn. In 19 games this term he has only completed 8, despite netting 9 goals at a rate of 1 every 140 minutes (just over a game and a half). This is a significant improvement on his first half of a season in Spain since switching from Italy when he netted 7 goals in 20 league appearances.
