The Mirror claim that Aston Villa and Everton will do battle with German giant Bayern Munich in a bid to sign their Midlands rival, West Brom Player of the Year Youssouf Mulumbu. The 24-year-old former France Under-21 international netted a late winner to down Villa at the Hawthorns recently and has seemingly caught the eye of the management in a revelation campaign for the midfielder. After signing for the Baggies for just £175,000 in 2009, West Brom would be set to see a significant profit on their investment should they sell, with reports touting a £4m fee. The main interest in Mulumbu is coming from the Bundesliga with the call of Champions League football set to tempt the DR Congo international, whose representatives are based in Germany and stated: “There is a lot of interest in him in Germany and there are four clubs who will try to sign him in. They are waiting one week to finalise their plans, but he is interesting to them all.” The centre midfielder has netted an impressive 7 goals, assisting one in his 33 league appearances and has an equally eye catching pass success rate of 85%. The feisty middle man has been booked 5 times and picked up 2 red cards this season
