Unbelievable Match Stats from Petrov in Liverpool Stats Round-up

Having looked at the stats from yesterday’s game there are some quite outstanding figures from Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov. The Bulgarian has had a somewhat disappointing season, certainly for the first two thirds, but his impact on the win over Liverpool should not be overlooked. The midfielder had the most touches of any player on the pitch (96), attempted the most passes (67) and incredibly was successful with 66 of those (99%). The veteran also made the most tackles (5), completed the most turnovers of possession (3) and was accurate with all 11 of the long balls he attempted. Hats off to you Sir!
