Despite the fact that he kept him out of the team in last weekend’s 1-0 win over Newcastle, Villa midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker has been singing the praises of Villa’s new recruit and centre midfield companion Jean Makoun, stating;
“Jean is a very good footballer, very intelligent and a very tidy box-to-box midfielder. It is very difficult for him because of the position we are in and he has just come from the French league.
“I think he is just realising now the demands of the Premier League and how difficult it is. I personally think he has done a great job for us in that middle ground and will only improve the more he plays.
“We’ve just got to give him a bit more time to settle in because he has done really well since he has been here. There’s no doubt in my mind that he is going to be an important player for us.”
