Villa’s reserve keeper, reserve Brad and reserve American Brad Guzan has stated that he is uncertain of his future with Aston Villa this season having returned to the club after spending the last 3 months with Championship side Hull City. The 26-year-old has impressed in his time at the KC Stadium but has featured just once under Houllier in his reign at the club during the Frenchman’s first game in charge, a 3-1 League Cup win over Blackburn. The belief is growing in both the player and around the club, that the former Chivas keeper and US international will have to leave in order to secure first team football, despite fellow countryman Brad Friedel’s future yet to be decided either. Guzan cemented his place as first choice at Hull immediately and has turned out 16 times for the Tigers, conceding just 14 goals and keeping 5 clean sheets in the process. He returns to Villa having helped Hull to a 2-1 away win over Watford on Saturday.
“I haven’t talked with Villa yet. We will see what happens in the next few weeks.
“Whether I am part of their plans or not I’m not quite sure.
“Hopefully they will have taken notice. If not, I guess my answer is that I won’t want to stay. But you can’t predict the future.
“I have one year left after the summer. I want to stay in England. This country produces fantastic football.”
