Tomorrow, the club are set to launch their new away kit and confirm their new kit sponsor ahead of the 2011/12 season with the club ready to adorn the new chequered design shirts supplied by Nike in the final year of its eventful contract.
Kit cock-ups aplenty have occurred over the past season with this seasons kits hitting major delays in the printing and therefore sales process to the waiting Villa fans. A new design has been launched for next season, meaning most Villa fans will have a quick turnaround in their strip collecting, assuming all goes well with this year’s release.
There has already been somewhat of a balls up with this year’s kit after JJB uploaded the new design of this seasons home kit on their site some months ago, a design which the club claimed at the time was merely a prototype. However, sports retail competitor JD has launched a pre-order facility of Villa’s new white away kit, sponsor pending and the two are extremely similar (below).
The revelation of a new sponsor remains more of a mystery after FxPro cut their ties with the club after just one season as kit sponsor, opting to keep their relationship with Premier League rivals who were believed to have accepted a cut price deal for a second year with the company, something that Villa would reportedly not agree to. Rumours have been thrown around as to the next contract with smart phone manufacturer HTC one of those mentioned in the past.
