Villa have announced that they will take part in next summer’s Asia Trophy in Hong Kong so if you’re wondering where to go on you’re holidays, now you know! The club will be joined by the weekend’s opponents and league champions, Chelsea along with Blackburn. The pre-season tournament line-up will be concluded by whoever wins the Hong Kong First Division title so no doubts they’ll be hot favourites (Chelsea Who?)! The games will take place on the 27th and 30th of July. Gerard Houllier had his say on the announcement, stating,
“The Barclays Asia Trophy is a tournament which Aston Villa is very much looking forward to competing in. It will be exciting to play in Hong Kong and the tournament will be a central part of our preparations for the 2011/12 season.”
