Here is a breakdown of the Villa’s best and worst performers in terms of ratings and statistics vs Everton with Petrov, Bannan and Given impressing.
Player Ratings
Shay Given – 7 – not the busiest of afternoon’s but two good stops when needed and couldn’t do anything about the goals
Alan Hutton – 5.5 – uncertain debut with a couple of hairy moments, the last of which nearly gifted Everton a late winner
Richard Dunne – 6.5 – solid enough, did little wrong despite tough test from Cahill
James Collins – 6.5 – see Dunne above
Stephen Warnock – 6 – tricky afternoon against the lively figure of Coleman, offered little going forward
Stiliyan Petrov – 7.5 – superb goal capped off a good display from the veteran
Fabian Delph – 6 – nightmare moment in conceding penalty, complete rush of blood, dominated by Fellaini
Charles N’Zogbia – 6 – very quiet away day
Emile Heskey – injured early on
Gabby Agbonlahor – 6.5 – quiet game but popped up to take late leveller very well
Darren Bent – 6 – isolated and caused very little threat
Subs
Barry Bannan – 7 – played much of the game and did well, wanted the ball and looked to create, lucky not to concede penalty
Marc Albrighton – 6.5 – delicious delivery to set up Agbonlahor goal, a quality lacking from his teammates before him
