Aston Villa Kit Leaked is a Prototype, Not Finished Article

JJB revealed the supposed new Aston Villa kit for the 2011-12 season earlier today on their site but have since taken it down after the club claimed it was merely a prototype and not the finished article. The design is likely to stay very similar with a two-tone checked pattern having been suggested from some time ago but the glaring error was the fact that Villa’s kit sponsor will not be FxPro next season after they pulled their contract with the club, a matter which was confirmed by the club some months ago. Villa are keen to get next season’s kit released sooner rather than later after the shambolic debarcle this season but are being held up by the fact that they are yet to find a new primary sponsor with the likes of HTC having been touted. Official statement from the club revealed that the kit is a prototype and the design is yet to be finalised but I would doubt it would change dramatically, barring the sponsor. JJB, the company formerly owned by Dave Whelan, the chairman of Villa’s next opponent Wigan, have been forced to retract the page and release a statement reading:

The kit design is still being finalised and, while a prototype of the new kit has begun to be circulated, I would like to emphasise that it is not the finished product.

We look forward to finalising everything over coming weeks and we will keep our fans updated when we have further details and confirmation of the official launch and on-sale dates.

I’d advise you to get ready for the checked effect next season! Thoughts?
