So in the past couple of days there have been some pretty remarkable claims that suggest Carlo Ancelotti is a top target for Aston Villa to become the next manager, assuming Gerard Houllier cannot continue and Ancelotti is relieved of his post at Stamford Bridge. The Italian is hotly tipped to get the sack by Roman Abramovich after failing to emulate the double winning successes of his first season in charge. Many feel that the Chelsea boss is keen to stay in the Premier League and could be willing to take a chance at Villa in order to prove his credentials as one of the world’s best managers having guided AC Milan to glory prior to joining the London club in 2009. Ancelotti replaced the then caretaker Guus Hiddink who is hotly tipped to return to the club on a permanent basis after winning over the fans in his short stint following the departure of Felipe Scolari. So what do you think fellow Villans? Could it happen and is a foreign manager the right way to go given the failures of Gerard Houllier up to now? Many of you favoured the likes of David Moyes for the post in the recent Villa Blog poll. Would Ancelotti be an improvement?
