Downing Photo with Liverpool Scarf: Cock Up or Mock Up?

An image leaked today of Stewart Downing holding a Liverpool scarf along with Andy Carroll has divided opinions as to whether PhotoShop has been at work at its finest. The key debate as to whether or not the photo is real is with regards to Downing’s left hand, which at first glance looks to have too many fingers! However some people, mainly Liverpool fans, have stated that white tassles at the end of the scarf have led to that illusion. Make your own mind up! Cock up from Downing or mock up from Liverpool fan?

    3. Massive mock up from a Liverpool fan. I am a mate of Stewy’s and know for a certain fact that he hasnt seen Andy Carroll this Summer once and definitely wouldnt get his pic took holding a Liverpool knowing what the consequences would be. He wouldnt do that to the Villa fans!

    7. Unbelievably fake! Downing having 6 fingers on his left hand is just one example of the things wrong with this “photo”.

    8. I am a photo retoucher by trade and i can tell you 99.9% that that is a fake. The lighting is all wrong, tell tale sign is the blueish light reflecting from the fridge onto his leg, it wouldn’t reflect onto the front of his leg as he is stood in front of the fridge. Also who is holding the other end of the scarf?

    9. It’s probably a pub menu they’re holding and the rest is photoshopped in. Could be an England scarf. Who knows. Regardless he is still under contract at Villa and hasn’t spoken to the new boss yet. It proves nothing either way.

    11. I’d just like to say that Downing would seriously need to be coming out soon and putting an end to this. We paid 12million for an injured player from a team who had just been relegated. He owed Villa last season to justify the price we paid for him and next year he should be at Aston Villa if for no other reason but to say thanks for giving him a chance. He has shone at Villa, had he been at Liverpool, Spurs etc he wouldn’t have had as much game time and would not have done so well. Look at the big picture here Downing and don’t become another tosser in English Football!!
