If you’re big on the celebrity scene and you love watching Villa play big games with famous faces in the audiences, you’ll likely know that everyone from TV presenters to Prince William himself supports the team. But there are a fair few surprises in the list of big names who like to attend a match down at Villa Park.

If you think that Hollywood wouldn’t have taken an interest in the goings-on of the Villans, you’d be surprised – one of the biggest celebrity fans is none other than The Terminal and Saving Private Ryan star Tom Hanks. The A-list actor has even offered comments on management replacement, players, and has occasionally sparked some controversy with his remarks, despite his loyalty to the team.

Musicians are also fond of the old claret and blue, and the most obvious of them all are Brummies themselves – Black Sabbath. That’s right – whether you’ve heard “Paranoid” during a Party Poker session or you’re a passionate fan of the heavy metal outfit, they’ll be big fans for some time to come. Other bands like Napalm Death and GBH are also tied strongly to Aston Villa, as some members are passionate fans and make it known.

There’s also a fair share of individuals involved in politics, from the Prime Minister David Cameron himself to Jacqui Smith. That’s before you mention the various fans that will take you by surprise but are explainable – Lee Child the author, a Coventry man; Lee Sharpe, ex-Man U player, and even the voice actor Redd Pepper.
