The blog is still a baby, being just over a month old, but already we are getting some regular readers already and a community spirit is developing. Hopefully you’ll all continue to visit and enjoy the site and get involved with comments or guest blogs in 2009.

Hello everyone, welcome to AstonVillaBlog.com, a website dedicated to Aston Villa fans and all things Aston Villa. My name is Martin Banks and I’ll be bringing you everything you need to know about Aston Villa, with daily posts about the latest Villa news, opinion, match previews, match reviews, liveblogs, transfer speculation, etc. Literally everything Villa related, all the way through to what colour boxers Martin O’Neill is wearing at each game! (OK maybe I’ll lay off managers and their pants, before I get a repuatation)
For those not familiar with ‘blogs’ it’s basicaly like reading a newspaper but not so boringly official and it will actually include opinions and knowledge of my own, not just quotes from players and managers. Also you can leave your responses to what’s being said.
The site is obviously brand spanking new right now, so it may not look this way for too long. It will damn sure become more claret and blue, don’t worry about that and it will also get more and more content and features as the days pass. Over time we will introduce more and more ways for you to amuse yourself and generally waste those pesky hours of the day that are known as ‘work’. Maybe we’ll have to fit one of those ‘quick the boss is coming’ buttons.
As mentioned above, ‘comments’ will be available for you to share your opinions about whats appearing on the site, so feel free (and very welcome) to click the comment button and say whatever you damn well please. If I’m talking some sense, give me an Amen, if I’m talking out of my arse then tell me to stop spouting absolute bollocks! I’m sure you, much like me, know way more about football than anyone else on the entire planet and there’s no questioning that your opinion is absolute fact. So let’s hear it
